The winner of this year’s 2010 Unexpected Unforgettable Ethnic Expo is Ms. Alex Prestel.
Alex is a junior at the University of Missouri studying both art and journalism. She moved to Columbus 12 years ago with her parents and two younger sisters. Alex attended Columbus North where she was a member of National Honors Society, student government, varsity soccer, The Triangle Newsmagazine, High School Heroes, Quill and Scroll Society, and Dance Marathon committee.
Alex has a strong desire to inform others through the use of graphic design. Her resume includes designing for various organizations such as AAF Mizzou, Butler University Homecoming, Vanderbilt's Make A Wish philanthropy and Columbus Signature Academy. She has also designed for The Tony London Co. for the past two years. She is spending this summer in Boston, MA, interning in the art department at Boston Magazine.
The purpose of this contest was to create a general promotional poster and image for this year’s Ethnic Expo. Alex’s submission has become the official artwork used to promote the 2010 Ethnic Expo.
Alex will ride in the parade and receive special recognition at the Judge’s stand. Ethnic Expo celebrates the City's diverse ethnic heritage and promotes understanding different cultures and customs.
